In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, the Faculty members of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Antalya Bilim University, in collaboration with the Antalya City Council, organized an extensive conference series. Running throughout 2023 and receiving wide coverage in the local press, this meaningful initiative aimed to bring the century-long achievements, foundational institutions, and future vision of the Republic to the public through an academic perspective.
During the series, our professors provided in-depth analyses on some of the most critical themes of the Republic's history. The lectures covered a wide array of topics, including Türkiye's position on the world stage, economic development, migration policies, the legal system, democratic processes and political culture, civil-military relations, the role of women in society, and European Union relations. Combining multidisciplinary expertise around a unified vision, these presentations effectively illustrated the multidimensional and dynamic evolution of our Republic.
This highly valued collaboration stands as a prime example of university-community integration. Drawing significant interest from the people of Antalya, non-governmental organizations, and local media, the conference series carries great social significance. It successfully brought scientific knowledge beyond the campus walls to contribute to the city's intellectual life, fostering a deeper public understanding of republican values. As department, we are proud to continue contributing to our society in the light of scientific inquiry and the values of the Republic.
