Course Contents

Bu dersin amacı, ekonomi bölümü öğrencilerinin akademik İngilizce yeterliliklerini geliştirmek ve alanlarına özgü terminoloji, akademik okuma, dinleme, yazma ve konuşma becerilerini bütünleşik bir yaklaşımla kazandırmaktır. Ders kapsamında öğrencilerin ekonomi alanındaki akademik metinleri anlayabilmeleri, eleştirel olarak analiz edebilmeleri, yapılandırılmış yazılı ve sözlü çıktılar üretebilmeleri ve akademik tartışmalara etkin katılım sağlayabilmeleri hedeflenmektedir.

The main coursebook is English for Economics in Higher Education Studies by McCormick (2012). Additional materials are drawn from English for Business Studies, English for the Financial Sector, and the Market Leader series. Furthermore, lecture notes, videos, academic texts, and supplementary materials shared via the LMS constitute essential learning resources for the course.

Students are expected to adhere strictly to the principles of academic integrity throughout the course. All submitted work must be original and properly acknowledge any sources used. Plagiarism, cheating, unauthorized collaboration, and any form of academic misconduct are considered serious violations and will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with university regulations.The use of artificial intelligence tools is permitted only within the limits defined by the instructor. Students are expected to use such tools responsibly and critically, ensuring that any AI-supported content is not submitted as their own work without proper acknowledgment. Misuse of AI tools will be treated as a violation of academic integrity.
