Course Objectives

• To analyze the evolutionary stages of architecture from the mid-nineteenth century to today in relation to the political, socio-economic and cultural milieu of time,• To comprehend the role of an architect in the historical sense,• To outline the various architectural trends by highlighting its most representative works,• To raise awareness about the architectural theories, philosophy and culture of the period and to establish a ground for the critical understanding.
